Puppet shows, which survive in Anatolia today under names such as korcak, kudurcuk, kaburcuk, kagurcuk, kagurcak, lubet, etc., which mean baby in Turkish, are the oldest of them all.
The puppet, which exists under names such as "Korkolkac", "Cadir Hayal" (marionette), is found in Central Asia under the same name and is believed to have come from there.
The subject of the marionette is comprised of events from daily life and stories from the literature. It is known that puppetry, which is a show of action and volume, has been going on since the 14th century.
